North of Kagbeni (10/22)
North of Kagbeni is the restricted area of Upper Mustang. It only opened to foreigners in 1992.
It is functionally part of Tibet and most people are Tibetan in some form. We are north of the Himalayas and in their rain shadow. It is extremely dry and windy. But very beautiful.
